Dr. Ruth Christie started Preserve Naturopathic Medicine in 2021. She is a primary care provider with special interest in digestive health, endocrinology, and autoimmune conditions. Dr. Christie graduated from Bastyr University and completed a competitive one-year teaching residency at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. There she participated in primary care, physical medicine, and community health rotations. From January 2022-May 2023 Dr. Christie also worked at Meridian Medicine in Seattle and Essential Wellness Medicine in Arlington, Washington where she provided primary and specialty care for patients with connective tissue disorders, autonomic dysfunction, and complex digestive disorders. Dr. Christie is an integrative provider—she loves to use botanical medicine, nutritional support, and physical medicine, but also manages prescription medications and refers to specialists as needed. She is a firm believer in shared decision making and collaborative treatment plans. Dr. Christie’s practice philosophy is guided by principles of social justice, cultural humility, patient resilience, and trauma informed care. She deeply values diversity and enjoys working with patients of all ages and genders. She is an LGBQT affirming and Health at Every Size aligned provider.
Outside of Preserve, Dr. Christie is adjunct faculty at Bastyr University. When not seeing patients Dr. Christie enjoys hiking and canoeing, spending time with friends and family, and struggling to play the guitar.
Dr. Christie is now accepting new patients. She is contracted with most major insurance companies.
